Deputy Minister of Communications & Digital Technologies, Hon. Philly Mapulane, will on Wednesday, 11 October 2023 be in the Mangaung Metro Municipality in Free State Province for the launch of Yarona Digital Ambassadors Programme alongside the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA).
The launch of the Ya Rona Digital Ambassadors Programme, which is aimed at empowering and upscaling communities on basic digital literacies, is part of the Department’s mandate to bridge the digital divide through a concerted programme of skilling South Africans in the use of new digital technologies, and to draw more young people into the economy by addressing the digital skills deficit.
The Deputy Minister will also use this opportunity with the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), to attend the graduation and certification ceremony of the 27 trainees who have successfully completed the Cell phone Repair Training Programme.
